Meet the Owner
At the helm of Best Pool is owner, Jonathan Shaprio, guiding the company with a philosophy that every business is, first and foremost, a customer service business. Jonathan holds a BS in Computer Science from Rutgers University, executive MBAs from Columbia Business School and London Business School, a Master’s in Accounting from Pace University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and CPA. In addition, he is a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and holds a Certificate in Plaster Startup from the National Plaster Council. His licenses from the California State Licensing Board include C-61/D-25 (Pool Maintenance), C-53 (Pool Construction), C-27 (Landscape Construction), and B General Contractor Builder.
Beyond his technical and business credentials, Jonathan is passionate about cultivating a company culture built on respect, high performance, support, and warmth. He has served on the boards of over 20 companies and was nominated for CFO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal. Outside of work, Jonathan is an active triathlete, marathoner, and cyclist, and he and his wife are blessed with three high-energy children.
